This is the debut album from the troupe of Bay Area rustlers known as Dimples. Bold, irreverent, and devoid of compromise, Council Bluffs is an ambitious 37 minutes of art and soul. On their first LP, Dimples thunders, squawks, and howls through 10 original hymns, bridging the valley of ideas between sweat-soaked stompers like “Dead Man” and the panoramic balladry of “Ten Thousand Years”.
Council Bluffs treads across the graves of poets and gunslingers, but peddles its own folk wisdom. These songs have a primitive conscience, admiring the world for all its good, and all its evil. The band harnesses ideas without capturing them. In doing so, Dimples achieve a sound that is truly free.
